DAAD Brazil: Open Day in Rio de Janeiro

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Brazil, in cooperation with the German Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro, is hosting its traditional Open Day on September 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (BRT).

The public is invited to visit the DAAD office in Rio de Janeiro and participate in a series of presentations and activities on studying and conducting research in Germany. During the event, representatives from German institutions – including the UA Ruhr – will provide information on opportunities for studying at German universities, scholarships, research funding, and the German language. 

In addition to the presentations and consultations at information booths, the program also includes a workshop on how to find a supervisor for a doctoral program or a host institution for a research stay in Germany.

The event closes with a happy hour featuring German games, food, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. – the idea is to promote German culture and create a space for conversation and networking among students, researchers, and representatives of the participating institutions.

The Open Day 2026 is an on-site event and free of charge. The presentations will be given in Portuguese.
