UA Ruhr STEM Academies 2026 open applications for prospective students

Ten prospective students at the RUB © Private/UA Ruhr
The UA Ruhr STEM Academies offer an excellent opportunity for prospective students to experience studying and research in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and engineering (STEM) at leading universities in Germany’s Ruhr region (NRW) — Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University, and the University of Duisburg-Essen. The application deadline for this year's academies is 17 May 2026.

The STEM Academy is a one-week module of the ‘Studienbrücke’ programme designed for prospective students interested in studying mathematics, computer science, natural sciences or technology at a German university. Participants learn about everyday student life at German universities, attend subject-specific lectures, explore laboratories and campuses, and make their first contacts. The academic programme is complemented by a wide range of leisure activities.

Two academy weeks will take place from 13–19 July and 20–26 July 2026, including: hands-on experiments and workshops in student laboratories, insights into research facilities and academic life, exchange with students and experts, and excursions within the Ruhr region.

If you are about to graduate from high school and have a minimum of B1-level German, as well as an interest in pursuing STEM courses in Germany, we invite you to apply for the academy!
