About us

The University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr) is a strategic alliance of three major public universities in Germany’s Ruhr region: Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University, and the University of Duisburg-Essen.

Together, these institutions support over 120,000 students and provide a robust network for research, teaching, international cooperation and research-driven entrepreneurship. Scientists from around the globe find at UA Ruhr an inspiring environment where they can build their careers in forward-looking research fields. Students benefit from a shared educational space. 

Since 2025, the UA Ruhr has also had a liaison office in São Paulo, further strengthening academic collaboration with Latin America.
