Opportunity for joint research in materials science and engineering between the UA Ruhr and universities in São Paulo State

This is the 12th call for collaborative research launched by FAPESP and M-ERA.NET since the signing of a scientific cooperation agreement in 2015. The M-ERA.NET consortium funds high-risk transnational research and development projects.
The new call aims to support ambitious transnational research and technological development projects focusing on materials research and innovation, including materials for batteries and low-carbon energy technologies. The call covers six thematic areas: ‘Materials for energy storage and distribution systems’, ‘Materials for energy conversion’, ‘Innovative surfaces, coatings and interfaces’, ‘Innovative functional materials with defined architectures’, ‘Materials for environmental challenges’ and ‘Next-generation materials for advanced electronics’.
Applications must comply with the rules and guidelines for the ‘Regular Research Funding’ scheme. FAPESP will provide funding of up to R$600,000 for the São Paulo-based component of selected projects, for a duration of 36 months. The call for proposals is open to researchers affiliated with universities or research institutions in the state of São Paulo. Each application must be submitted by a consortium comprising three principal investigators from at least three different countries participating in the call.
The documents must be submitted both via SAGe by the lead researcher from the state of São Paulo and via the M-ERA NET platform (available in the original call for proposals) by the coordinating researcher of the international consortium, who must be registered in the SAGe system at the time of submission. If the proposal is accepted, researchers are requested to submit the full application by 18 November.
Researchers from the State of São Paulo can find the call for proposals and further details at fapesp.br/18101.
